Washington (IPA: /ˈwɒʃɪŋtən/) is a state in the Pacific Northwest region of the United States. The state is named after George Washington, the first President of the United States. It is the only U.S. state named after a president.Washington was carved out of the western part of Washington Territory and admitted to the Union as the 42nd state in 1889. In 2006, the Census Bureau estimated the state's population at 6,395,798. Residents are called "Washingtonians" (emphasis on the third syllable, pronounced as tone). Washington is sometimes called Washington state or The state of Washington to distinguish it from Washington, D.C., the U.S. capital.

Most Idahoans no longer want Larry Craig as our senator. We are not allowed a recall petition or recall election as we are with other elected officials. We can no longer count on his word, and he has sealed his role in history as the worst Idaho senator ever. We appeal to the other 99 United States Senators to please expel Senator Craig.

The Idaho Minority Summit has been established to get an accurate count of the number of citizens from various minority and ethnic groups, including LGBT citizens. The focus of the summit is to bring minority groups together in an effort to prepare for the Census 2010 and to encourage voter registration in the 2008 election.
