The findings published in a leading science journal come just as some Australian states are thinking about lifting bans on genetically engineered (GE) food crops. Food company Nutricia warned by food authorities in Australia and New Zealand they may have breached the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code by placing Karicare GOLD infant formulas on the market before receiving necessary approvals. Nutricia requested to withdraw product, or have them removed under Food Act.
