Eukanuba is a brand name of cat and dog foods sold by the Iams company since 1972, owned by Procter & Gamble. Eukanuba is highly touted world-wide by breeders and veterinarians. Dry pet food products sold by Eukanuba are manufactured in-house, and are not subcontracted. Some of the Eukanuba-brand wet foods sold in North America are manufactured by Menu Foods Income Fund of Ontario, Canada though analysts speculate whether that relationship will continue after a June 11, 2007 press release from Menu Foods stated a significant customer discontinued purchases for cuts and gravy products. Under the Eukanuba label, Iams sells a wide variety of dietary choices for pets, including soft and hard foods, as well as an array of treat products. They also provide specialized veterinarian prescription diets for treatment of various ailments, including allergies and digestion problems.

A massive pet food recall for over 60 million containers of wet / moist cat and dog food spanning most major brands (Iams, Eukanuba, Purina, Science Diet, Nutro) and retailers (Wal-Mart, Kroger, Food Lion, Safeway, etc) was initiated this past Friday.
